He is a lecturer in the Irish Department of the Marino Institute of Education in Dublin. He was for many years principal of a gaelscoil and was Irish language teacher and advisor to Mary McAleese during her time as President of Ireland. He is a writer and dramatist and was given a lifetime achievement award by Oireachtas na Gaeilge for his work in preserving and promoting our traditional oral art forms.
